Mennatallah Mansi received an MA in the Politics of Translation in 2021 from Cairo University. Her previous research examined online jihadist and counter-jihadist translation practices with the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria in 2014. Her research was developed and presented during interdisciplinary workshops organized by Germany-based ZMO and the European Network for Islamic Studies (ENIS). Her main area of academic interest is the relation between translation and ideology and the role of translation in socio-political and religious contexts. Her doctoral work explores Vatican messaging in Arabic, with a focus on the agent, the medium and the receiving audience.
